Alakbar Abbasli

Alakbar Abbasli joined STP Group of Companies as a Member of the Supervisory Board in 2023. Since August 2025, he has been serving as the CEO of STP Group of Companies.

Alakbar Abbasli Abbasli graduated from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy with a Bachelor’s and later a Master’s degree in Petroleum Industry and brings over 25 years of professional experience across the energy, construction, finance and industrial sectors.

He began his career in professional consulting, spending more than five years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Ernst & Young (EY), where he built a strong foundation in audit, financial reporting, corporate governance and internal control.

Mr. Abbasli then transitioned into the energy sector, where he spent over five years at Statoil (now Equinor) Azerbaijan as Finance Manager for the Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company (AGSC). In this role, he gained extensive hands-on experience in financial management and operational oversight within large-scale oil and gas projects.

He continued his executive development in the construction sector, serving for five years as Deputy Managing Director at PASHA Construction, one of Azerbaijan’s leading construction and development companies. During this period, he was directly involved in the management of major residential and civil construction projects.

Mr. Abbasli later spent several years as General Manager of SOCAR Gas Operating Company, where he led strategic, operational and financial activities and as Chief Financial Officer of GL LTD, overseeing financial strategy and corporate efficiency initiatives.
