Employees of STP Group of Companies promote healthy lifestyle

Sports enthusiasts among the employees of STP Group of Companies organized a cycling tour through the central streets of Baku. The main goal of the event, which gathered around 60 participants, was to encourage meaningful leisure activities and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The cycling tour took place as part of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” initiative, with participants riding along the newly built bike lanes of the capital city. In doing so, the event once again highlighted that bicycles are not only environmentally friendly but also an efficient mode of urban transportation.

Before the start of the ride, STP Group of Companies CEO, Hijran Valehov, expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation for its support in organizing the event and shared his hope that efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle will continue successfully.

600 lane dividers and protective sets installed on the capital city’s bike lanes were produced by STP Polymer plant, subsidiary of STP Group of Companies. Production of 6,400 protective sets is planned by the end of 2024 according to Baku city’s master plan and by 2040, 120,000 sets will be manufactured for bike lanes covering a total length of 286 km.

At the plant’s production facilities, hard-to-degrade materials such as polyethylene, plastic and polycarbonate are recycled and reused in manufacturing. Producing the above-mentioned quantity of protective sets will result in recycling 660 tons of waste, which will also benefit the environment.
