KAESER was established in 1919 as a machine workshop, but started on the road to becoming one of the world’s leading compressed air system providers in the 1950s when founder, Carl Kaeser Snr, made the decision to start manufacturing reciprocating compressors.

Main plant, Coburg

Developed by KAESER and continuously enhanced ever since, the KAESER SIGMA PROFILE achieves power savings of up to 15 percent compared with conventional screw airend rotor profiles.

All KAESER rotary screw airends feature this energy-saving rotor profile and are designed to ensure maximum energy efficiency.

The generously-sized, precision-aligned roller bearings and close-tolerance machining guarantee long service life and outstanding reliability.

Energy-saving compressor airend with SIGMA PROFILE rotors

A specific drive power can be used to turn a smaller airend at high speed or a larger airend at slow speed. Larger, slower running airends are more efficient and deliver more compressed air for the same drive power.

This is why KAESER builds airends with the slowest drive speeds possible and optimised screw profiles. Every KAESER rotary screw compressor equipped with one of these highly efficient airends quickly pays for itself through power cost savings.

Lower life-cycle costs

Energy costs taken over the lifetime of any compressor add up to many times that of the initial capital cost, which can make any purchase price difference a false economy. Save additional costs and benefit the environment with heat recovery:

Reusable heat generated during compressed air production represents a considerable potential saving, since 100 percent of the energy fed to a compressor is converted into heat. This is energy that can be utilised. In fact, up to 96 % of the energy that is used to produce compressed air remains available for reuse. This not only enables huge annual financial savings, but also helps to considerably reduce CO 2 emissions. The scale of the savings effect depends on the size of the compressors and the primary energy source that is used (electricity, gas, fuel oil). Moreover, many older compressor models can even be retrofitted to provide heat recovery.

Efficient KAESER V-belt drive

KAESER screw compressors with V-belt drive provide outstanding efficiency and reliability. KAESER was one of the first compressor manufacturers to introduce the V-belt drive system. The KAESER drive is characterised by an automatic tensioning device* that ensures constant transmission efficiency. This, of course, reduces maintenance costs.

*)SX series models are equipped with a flat drive belt that does not require additional tensioning.

KAESER rotary screw compressors with 1:1 drive – up to 500 kW

In compressed air packages featuring 1:1 drive the motor drives the airend directly without transmission loss via a maintenancefree coupling. Direct drive rotary screw compressors provide outstanding performance and enable significant savings. KAESER’s comprehensive range of specially designed airends are manufactured and developed to meet every compressed air user’s needs.

Space-saving combination of rotary screw compressor and refrigeration dryer

With KAESER’s intelligent system design, the compressor and refrigeration dryer are both completely separate, independently functioning modules. This protects the dryer from exposure to heat from the compressor package thereby enhancing reliability.

Energy saving refrigeration dryers

The dryer shut-down feature*, which can be selected via the compressor controller, is linked to compressor operation and significantly reduces energy consumption. All components are generously sized yet are easily accessible for maintenance and servicing work.

Portable compressors

Compact powerhouses With petrol engines up to 15 bar

The smallest MOBILAIR compressors are more than capable of powering breakers, drills, saws, grinders, impact wrenches and even impact borers. The 15-bar version is the ideal choice for trenchless laying of glass fibre cables or for leakage tests. In addition, the compressor can be equipped with an external compressed air aftercooler for certain applications that may require cool and condensate-free compressed air.

Portable compressors With the patented Anti-Frost Control

MOBILAIR portable compressor models with free air deliveries ranging from 2 to 5.6 m³/min ensure dependable performance even in cold conditions: KAESER’s patented Anti-Frost Control automatically adjusts operating temperature according to ambient temperature. Along with the optional tool lubricator, this system is especially useful at times of the year when ambient temperatures are lower, as it protects air tools against freezing and significantly enhances both system availability and service life.

Exceptional power and versatility

The MOBILAIR portable compressors in this product group provide exceptional versatility. Optionally available with synchronous generators and / or compressed air treatment components, these compressors are also offered in various maximum pressure versions. This large selection of possible configurations therefore ensures that an appropriate model is available to meet the needs of virtually any application.


The M 36’s 3-phase generator (IP54) delivers impressive power of 13 kVA, whilst the M 45’s provides 8.5 kVA. The brushless generators are maintenance-free and, depending on energy requirement, can be switched from continuous operation to energy-saving automatic start mode.

The compressor‘s impressive performance and staying power is made possible thanks to its generously sized fuel tank and continuous delivery control, which precisely matches air delivery to meet actual demand. This further reduces the fuel consumption of these already efficient machines.

The emission-free alternative

Equipped with a quality 3-phase motor (IP54 ISO F), the emissions-free and super-quiet M 13E is the perfect choice for use in closed environments and in sound-sensitive areas.

Easy-load design

The compressor can be manually lifted via four ergonomically designed hand grips, e.g. to enable loading on to a transporter.

Simple to operate

The user-friendly control and instrument panel enables all information to be viewed at a glance. Features include: automatic moni- toring and shutdown and pre-heat function for gentle start in cold conditions. Clear icons further enhance user-friendliness.

Dedicated intake filter

Generously sized for increased reliability and operational life. The filter can also be changed quickly and easily onsite.

High quality cylinder

Our special machining process produces a perfect finish on the inside wall of the cylinder, which makes running-in of the compressor unnecessary as no significant wear takes place after the unit is started for the first time.

Stainless steel valves

The valve reeds in the corrosion resistant stainless steel valves are equipped with lift limiters to ensure air-tight valve closure and to prevent build-up of oil carbon. This achieves exceptional service life and dependability.

KAESER Premium compressors – a model to suit every need

Carefully constructed using the very best materials, each unit ensures a long, efficient and reliable service life. Proven quality, robust design and long maintenance intervals (fluid change required only every two years) make Premium series compr- essors from KAESER the ideal choice for everyday use.

Premium workshop compressors – professional quality and performance

Each Premium Series compressor features KAESER’s low maintenance compressor block, a directly coupled electric motor and an internally coated air receiver. For powers up to 1.5 kW the newly developed Kaeser COMPACT compressor is used in which the motor and compressor casing form a single component. The compressor blocks are manufactured, assembled and tested onsite at the Kaeser reciprocating compressor production facility at the Coburg plant in Germany. The high quality air receivers and electric motors are produced exclusively for Kaeser by leading German manufacturers.

High-grade lubricating fluid

Every Premium workshop compressor is filled with special temperature-resistant highgrade lubricating fluid that virtually eliminates build up of oil-carbon deposits on the valves. In addition, the fluid enables the lubrication change interval to be doubled to approximately 1000 operating hours.

After carrying out a computer-aided Air Demand Analysis (ADA), we will quickly determine your business’s compressed air demand and provide an exact itemised air-cost analysis. With help from KAESER’s Energy Saving System (KESS), the ADA data forms the basis for determining a cost-optimised air supply system.

The Sigma Air Manager (SAM) from Kaeser plays a very similar role within a compressed air supply system: Utilising the very latest master control and web server technology, the SAM is an invaluable tool for ensuring optimised air system availability and energy efficiency.

Adaptive 3-D-Control

With a powerful industrial PC at its core, the Sigma Air Manager features Kaeser’s adaptive 3-D-Control (patent pending) which enables compressor delivery volume and energy consumption to be precisely adjusted to match actual compressed air demand. Unlike other master control systems that have been available up until now – which simply rely on operation within a narrow pressure range and with lowest possible switching pressure differential – Kaeser’s 3-D-Control delivers unrivalled performance by optimising energy efficiency throughout the entire compressed air system.

Integrated web server

Using powerful industrial PC-based technology, the SAM is an all-in-one master control system and web server. This versatile system not only ensures energysaving control, but – thanks to advanced communication technology – also provides unrivalled transparency relating to key data such as operational status, energy consumption and compressed air system costs.


The SAM can be easily connected to Kaeser’s ‘Teleservice’ remote diagnostics and demandoriented maintenance service. Using the modem interface, data is sent to the Kaeser Service Centre via SMS or a standard telephone line. This feature further enhances system availability.

One size fits all

The SIGMA CONTROL 2 features a highly flexible modular design, yet its standard construction means that this versatile control system can be matched to suit the needs of any rotary screw compressor from KAESER KOMPRESSOREN’s extensive range. Comprising a main control unit and separate input/ output modules, this modular concept therefore enhances communication and user-friendliness.

Integrated web server

The SIGMA CONTROL 2 is equipped with its own web server, making it possible to communicate with the compressor via intranet/Internet. Operational data and maintenance and alarm messages can therefore be viewed, with password protection, from any PC running a standard Internet browser. This feature consequently simplifies operation and maintenance for example.

Flexible communication

SIGMA CONTROL 2 communicates internally with the compressor via input/output modules that are tailored to meet the specific needs of the various compressor ranges; this future-proof concept therefore offers exceptional flexibility. Moreover, Ethernet interfaces and numerous plug-in bus communication modules enable external communication with utilities management and centralised control systems.

Security with RFID

SIGMA CONTROL 2 provides high level security with its integrated RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) functionality. Not only does this technology ensure secure log-in for users and/or KAESER service engineers, but also safeguards the system against unauthorised changes or operation. Manufacturer-provided passwords are no longer required.
